The next series of Top Gear will contain the following. Feel free to tick them off the list.

1) Hammond crashing whatever car he has bought into the others, mainly captain slow.

2) One of the chaps holding up traffic, with dubbed car horns like its the centre of Turin.

3) The will get stopped by the police for something, and the police will not recognise any of them.

4) Clarkson will modify something in a manner that is atrociously bad engineering.

5) Contrived comedy "mistake" along the same lines as Hammond rolling his Land Cruiser down the sand dune.

Feel free to add some of your own.

I love the show, but its got to the stage where my 5 year old son could write it using the formula above.

6) Clarkson buys the most expensive car as cheaply as possible, then wonders why it breaks down - unless the car has a reputation for breaking own, in which case it will be the most reliable for surprise comedy effect.

I've started watching fifth gear repeats just because occasionally I want something a bit more serious. Most of the time its TG all the way for me though.

I'm not sure I'd agree it's always worth watching tbh, a few shows from the last series left me a completely cold. I think they had the formula right at the beginning but it's getting a bit tired now. Needs a bit of life shaken into it.

That said, I'll always watch it. Unless the new series turns out to be bunk.

No doubt there will be 'race' in which Clarkson will go it alone in a supercar while Hammond and James will have an alternative means of transport. The end will be soooooo close with all three presenters out of breath after running the last few yards to the finish line. Clarkson will of course, be sat down with a half of lager and a smug grin. The other two will look on in surprise and disapointment. All of the above will be shot in wobbly, hand held action cam including a couple shots of the floor during the foot sections

The whole show has become a predicable parody of itself. I will watch each and every episode with my 9 year old (who I'm increasingly convinced it's actually aimed at) and I'll tut and sigh at every contrived set piece. It's like an addiction, I can't leave it alone.....

As far as Fifth Gear is concerned I prefer the format but struggle with 3 of the presenters. Tom Ford, the other beardy bloke and VBH. Tiff and Jason, no problem.

Based on forum opinion, I think I must be the only person in the country who actually likes 5th Gear.

It's certainly more informative that TG, but I want them to either be funny or exploding or doing something unusual - just circulating Anglessy doesn't interest me anymore. At least it's a better track than when they were using Coombe...

It's so hard to make motoring programs interesting, whens the new season of TG starting?

But isn't that the issue with Top Gear too? They found a new formula that worked. It included being funny AND exploding and was epic for the first few seasons. But they continue to flog the same old dead horse and it becomes very unfunny. At this point informative comparisons of cars abilities starts to become a more attractive option again. Just as long as Tom Ford (whos humour and wackyness was also refreshing once), The Other Beardy Bloke and VBH aren't involved :---)

EDIT: Tell Tom I said 'Hi' and can you get his autograph signed to Tom please? Thanks :eey:

When Tiff and Jason go at it in two similar cars, Fifth Gear is brilliant. Apart from that I don't find it particularly engaging.

Even being a 'B-List' motoring presenter seems to have its perks
